First off, what type of connection do i need to read all the info from the car? and where do i connect it? I am a computer programmer, and im almost positive i could decode the info sent to the computer, if i could hook it up. Any info or experiences with the subject would be great

ok, so it seems that my car should have a OBD-I (remember its a 1994, and OBD-II wasnt introduced till late 1995)

i found a diagnostics port under the hood, but it does not look like OBD-I, anyone know what it is?

Please do not double or triple post in the future. If you have something to add, then go back and edit your original post instead.

Thanks!

i completly dissassembled the entire interior today excluding the dash, and i found some fun stuff, like the airbag sensor

Tomorrow I am gonna dissassemble the dash and look around in there. Then ill re-assemble it.

Off-topic: anyone in California know the law for driving with your hood off?

As far as I know, we don't have that type of connector in our Corollas (pre-95). The OBD-I connector is in the engine bay, as shown in pic #1 that you posted. You'll most likely just have to jump the appropriate ports as opposed to using a plug.

well, if i was trying to diagnose a problem, i would jump 2 ports and then turn the key on, and the check engine light will flash an error code. But i wanted to read all the data from the car (rev, speed, fuel-air, oil pressure, etc.)
