What I'm planning to do with my corolla

Hi everybody, i'm a bit new with all those car forums etc. But since I got my car, things changed and now I'd like to perform some modification.

I'll start by describing my corolla : I got a 1997 Blue corolla SD, Manual, 260000 km

With my friends, we started thinking about how to modify it, and here's what we decided to do : Badgeless, get the Toyota sign away, and put a grill ( I'M NOT ENGLISH, THERE MIGHT BE LOTS OF MISTAKES) Darken the lights, paint it flat black, put some nice flat black rims with a white lip, and drop it a bit.

So, I'd like to have any other suggestion, or any comment that could help me. If you got better ideas for my Corolla go on!
Thank You
Jean-Loup

Welcome to TN fellow Canuck!

You'll find a lot of helpful information, I would start by looking at the DIY thread stickied at the top, it will answer a lot of questions which you may have.

Enjoy your stay.

Sounds like you've got a few ideas in mind, lowering it makes a lot of difference, as does adding a set of wheels. I'm not sure about painting it in flat black though....In my opinion, flat black cars look crap and incomplete, but it's up to you at the end of the day

There was a guy on here that sprayed his Corolla flat black and tinted the taillights, so here's some pics for you to see what yours would look like if you did the same:

I will soon take some pictures of my car and post it, i'm doing that as soon as possible! And for the flat black I think it got some style, and I don't want my corolla to be the same as all others, so til I got better idea I think it's going to be flat black! But hey, thanks for the pictures it's really appreciated. If you guys got some ideas you think could be better just let me know, my choice isn't fixed yet and i'm open to any suggestion, I just want my corolla to be stylish

Gloss black was a standard colour for the 7th Gen Corolla, but they're very hard to come by. In addition to rollakid690, Piloter also has a black sedan. I believe it is called Satin Black Metallic, and the paint code is 205.

taking the emblems off it seems to deminish the car itself, as if you want people to assume its not a corolla on first look, if you wanna make your corolla look nice, if it isnt black, i suggest painting the window frames black, it really adds a nice sporty look to the car, you can find my write-up in the DIY thread.

Changing from FWD to RWD must be expansive?! Is it worth the price?

welcome to the forums jean-loup hope you enjoy your stay and there's plenty to learn here, my suggestion in colour you can use a gunmetal gray or gunmetal black its a lovely colour and its between flat black and gray so you can look it up and see if you like. lowering your car is a great bonus in handling and steering responce, and upgraded wheels as well, goin badgless is kool altho ill still keep the toyota emblem on the trunk it suits the car to me and darkening the lights will also look cool just dont draken them too dark becuz to me it spoils the look but what ever idea you come up with the guys here will definately help you out
