So, i decided to make my own strut bar (front), and i already did a ton of calculations for angles etc. and marked up some plate metal and it'll be cut tomorrow. Now the tough part, is deciding if i wanna use some square tube that I've got on hand, or if I want to go buy some circular tubing, what do you guys thing? Either way It's gonna be painted.
If anyone is interested I can re-create the stencils I made on the computer (there were made to fit a 94 corolla base model) and post them up for you.
you got access to a welder? that would be sick to make your own strut bar.
yep, we got one in the garage
Matter-a-fact Im not too bad at welding either
i just picked up a piece of tube 1"D x 10'L and it'll serve me well (hopefully)
Once our friend cuts out the mounts I stenciled out, I can go pick them up, then It'll just be grinding to assure a good fit and welding, ill take pictures along the way for you guys
There was a guy in the 10th Gen Corolla forum that made a DIY on how to make a rear strut bar the other week. Obviously the 7th Gen design is going to be different, but the concept is the same so you may find it handy. Here's the link:

thats top!
do you know where to fit it in our cars tho?
If you take the rear seats out, you'll see two strut tops on each side (just like the ones in the engine bay). If you can't be bothered making your own rear strut bar, Ultra Racing make one for our cars that bolt straight in:

I made one for our Team Psychosis 24 hours of LeMons Dodge Omni. Make some cardboard templates to match the strut towers and a piece of bar stock to connect them. No welding required. The judges at tech inspection were impressed. Sorry I didnt take a good pic of it.

will the rear seats fit back on?
and i have rear fold down seats with the cushion on the side, do i need to take them out to fit?
thanks
the rear seats will not fit back i, I THINK. also, thanks for the link, But I've already planned mine out, the only thing left to do is pick up my cut metal and weld it, and paint it. i made a cardboard template before i marked the metal though, ill get some pics of it when its done, if you guys like it i'll write a DIY up.
