car still hiccups/misses

I posted before about my car hesitating/stalling especially off the line and I took it to a garage and the guy cleaned out the fuel injector which seemed to cure the stalling problem.

However, my car still seems to be missing when I am idling in drive(with a load) and the car will shake sometimes or when stopped and in gear. If I turn on the AC it will really do it more.

This problem doesn't always happen, so I think it will be hard to diagnose.

My car really seems to be low on power too, esp when going up hills.

Any advice?

could be a vacuum leak, or possibly in need of a tune up?

There is a diagnostics port under your hood, make sure your key is OUT of the ignition, open the cap up, and
jump TE1 and E1 (you can even use a paperclip), insert your key and turn to the on position, the check engine light will blink an error code if there is an engine problem.

It will blink a series of numbers (2) and it will pause in between numbers (example if it blinks 3 times and then pauses and blinks 6 times the code is 36). If it just continually blinks then there is no error.

Look up the error code online, if you cannot find it go to a shop and have them diagnose it (pepboys will diagnose it for free..the one here will anyway).

also most 7th gen corollas do not have much power up hills

Already had the car tuned up with new plugs, distributor cap, fuel pump, etc...

I checked the engine and the error code that came up was the pattern 2-2-4-1. How many numbers is the error code? Do you know where I can find the list, please?

Thanks again for the codes Kiwi-Corolla!Checked them and it seems the oxygen sensor and TPS are the culprits.

Priced out the TPS and it's really expensive for such a small part, so I hit the wreckers and found a car with one, but not sure if it is the same size motor.

Question:If I use a TPS from a 1.8L on a 1.6L will it work?

Got a TPS from the wreckers and changed it. Still got the same problem.

One of the diagnostic codes flashed 22 with I think means the ECT.

Could this be the cause of my problems?

Got it fixed! Disconnected the battery and checked for codes again , but this time nothing came up. Changed the fuel injectors and still had the same problem. As a shot in the dark decided to change the distributor I picked up at the wreckers for $15. It did the job!!! My old distributor was a rebuild from 5 years ago that cost $400.

Thanks to everybody for the initial advice.
