Australia 95 Prizm, transmission question

Hi viewers,

I've not posted on here in awhile. I have a '95 Geo Prizm 1.6 m/t. I just took the transmission out as the clutch is basically worn and I'm getting that replaced. While it's out, is there a way to have the transmission diagnosed? The car has almost 300K on it. I bought it second hand, so I have no way of knowing if it is the original or not, or whether it had been rebuilt.

Also, I will go ahead and order a clutch slave cylinder as well, and get all engine mounts replaced (or repaired). Any other recommended parts to replace, like seals or boots?

Thanks

If the trans was OK when you took it out it will still be OK. If its a different one all you can do on the bench is move it through the gears.

Dont forget to remove the flywheel and replace the rear main seal. Also make sure you clean the throwout arm pivot and lube it.

Thanks for the info Speedy. I'll be doing that this weekend.

I think I might take this route as far as repairing the mounts....
