Prizm coil springs...what a difference!

I just replaced the struts and OEM coil springs in my 94 Prizm. I noticed that the new front springs were quite different from the old ones. The old ones were 4 coils, widely-spaced. The new ones were 6 coils, narrower-spaced. The old ones were NOT lowering springs, but original factory.

It seems to have solved most of my mushy-ride Prizm problems; now all I need is the rear anti-sway bar to make this heap handle more like the Corolla it should be.

Just letting you Prizm owners know.

Thanks for the info.... I'm about ready for a replacement on my '97 Prizm.
Where did you buy the coils? Was it a fairly easy job replacing them?

I got a question related to this, are there different struts on the Corolla? I bought lowering springs and the coil is too wide for the strut, did they change the size of the strut? I have a '95 1.6. I really wanted to get the springs on. They've been sitting in my garage for over a year now.

Snoofer, I got the springs (Moog) from rockauto. Replacing them is fairly easy with spring compressors.
I did it the really easy way: $15 each for a good shop here in Mexico, then a $22 alignment.

Jaws: I think the struts are the same on Corollas and Prizms. The springs are interchangeable. It sounds like you have the wrong springs...check the part number. Good luck! I have to go fishing.
