BPU 4AFE 1600CC max speed 175kph on 18" rims.... not accurate because i was running out of road lol
hp???
no track days
havent timed myself to 1/4 mile runs due to no legal drag strip in my country
ive thought about putting the 3SGE from my MR2 into the corolla pretty much stock gen2 on catcams made 164hp/146tq at the wheels on a dyno dynamics dyno, MR2 would do a low low low 14 with a crap launch so im sure with traction a Corolla could do every bit of that
would be a very quick N/A car... lightweight corolla plus power.. plus as far as i know, more aftermarket parts can be sourced for the 3sge than for a corolla engine..
doesnt the gen6 celica gt have 178bhp stock from a 3sge?
That sound right but that's also for a gen3 GE, gen2 are rated around 165bhp (arguably) Beams being around 170bhp Grey, 200bhp Red, 210bhp Black (it's also been proven that the ONLY difference between a grey an redtop beams is in the exhaust manifold and the ecu, cams, pistons, everything else is identicle)
IMO there isn't any other option if staying NA, 20v are nice as are smallports but the TQ isn't there, all you need is mounts which wouldn't be that hard to make thanks to all the MK1.5 MR2 guys, st165 axles clip into the S tranny as well as into the hubs
FYI for some who didn't know, TRD offered a Gen3 3SGE in an AE101 Corolla at some point, named TRD2000 Corolla iirc
There was a photo of a 3S-GE in a 7th Gen Corolla in the gallery on this site, but I can't seem to find it now as it came up under 'random images' last time.

I remember seeing a factory sales sheet for that a little while ago. I think it was called a re-power package or something. I might have saved the image, but finding it on my hard-drive would be like finding a needle in a haystack.
