Rear deck speakers

Does anyone here know if the Alpine SPR-17C speakers will fit the 6.5" rear deck of a 97 corolla? Amazon claims they're 6.5 but crutchfield said that the SPS-600s were 6.75, and amazon said 6.5, so I don't know which is correct.

Most of these speakers are 6.5/6.75 anyway so it doesnt really matter.

Alright, thanks. Clears things up.

Also, I have a 52x4w sony head unit, and I was wondering if the SPR-17C speakers would even work because they're apparently rated at 2-100w RMS and my HU is probably 20-25RMS. Would the Alpines be considerably louder than my 50w rms kickers, or would they be the same?

Yes, but because of the crossover modules on the side of the speaker and its GIANT magnet, I had to cut out part of the corolla's speaker mount. Not much but I needed to cut so the speaker could be screwed on. Once installed I quickly sealed the gaps with some foam tape and done.

The speakers themselves sound amazing. Deep bass for a 6.5er and mids/highs aren't unnecessarily loud like my Kicker front speakers. All in all they're amazing. Worth.the $85 I paid.

Oh, and these replaced a pair of $15 paper jensens. Their magnet was probably 4x smaller than the one on the alpines.

The "blackbox" on the side of the speaker to split the signal between the woofer and tweeter. Some like the newer RockFord Fosgate Punch series build it into the speaker, but you will still need to modify the mounting bezel for it to fit. I do not recommend the Fosgates anyway as I had issues with them sounding blown periodically, and I ultimately returned them. not mention modifying this bezel is a pain in the ass. I have Kenwood Excelons with an external box and they fit fine without any mods and are awesome sounding.

Glad the Alpines worked out for the TS too!
