Brake help needed!

am going to be puttung the rear brake disc setup from a gxi on to my corolla saloon...

1) Is it a straight swap?

2) a new problem has come up, when i bought the rear disc conversion (from a gxi (ae102)) for my 93 corolla saloon,
the guys had cut the handbrake cable. my problem is that they cost £35 EACH ,

does anyone know if the handbrake cable from any other car would fit straight on? (levin ae111, avensis, impreza perhaps??)

need answers for this asap plz...

3) the rear discs and pads cost £££, is it possible to use discs from a different car (cheaper)? if yes which one?

this is off an ad of ebay for the size....

Mountings 4
Disc Diameter 266.0mm
Disc Thickness 9.0mm
Overall height 36.5mm
Centre Diameter 55.0mm
Minimum Thickness 8.0mm

the parts..

Thank you !!

You should also swap for the dual disk proportioning valve but on some cars it doesnt matter. You may also need different hoses to fit the rear calipers to the brake lines.

essentially a hand brake cable is just a long steel cable... you could get another cable for another car that is similar in length, but there are no guarantees. suck it up, and get the cable. your going to need it.

Bro sorry to reply so late.

I'm not sure whether it can fit or not. Because it depends on the length of the disc brakes to the mid-part of the car where the handbrakes are and it is a cross-cable (left disc to right and vice versa).

I would suggest to find the same length of the original ones because you will need to adjust the height and strength of the brakes.

Hope it helps Good luck.

as I said on midnightclub.ie, they will fit on and the hoses will fit straight on too, but you do need tha handbrake cables that got chopped....I dont know what other ones might work though...
