95 corolla dx...need HELP????

i have a 95 corolla dx. automatic. the problem is when you turn your key to the on position, the fuel pump should prime and you should hear it, but i can not hear mines prime. the car starts up and would drive, but then it would start to stutter and want to die, it dies sometimes and doesnt, after it does die, i have to wait 10-15 minutes to start it again. it would start and drive, but would stutter and want to die again. it just does this over and over again. also, when i bought the car i did not know that it had a alarm system. i dont know if the alarm is stock or aftermarket, but it has a switch under the steering wheel, it switches up and down and a red light would come on and off. anyone with any suggestions please it would be appreciated. thanks.

Start with a fresh fuel filter. Your symptoms suggest that.

The I will add that aftermarket alarms are the cause of a LOT of wacky electrical problems, but not typical to what you describe.

Ok...

Remove the line that enters the fuel filter from the pump...

prime the pump after you've placed said line into a bucket to collect the fuel... if it FLYS outta there like a bat out of hell.. rule out the pump...

While your in there, REPLACE THE FILTER... get a Haynes manual for this.

If problem still persists, I say bad Fuel Pressure Regulator.

If the fuel pump is ok...I would also check the fuel pump relay as a possibility. It may look good, but could have bad solder points. If you are able to borrow one/get one from a junk yard, you could rule that out for minimal costs.

UPDATE: install new fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, spark plugs wires, and distributor cap.

The new things i did just made the car worser. it dies more now and i can't even drive 5 minutes before it dies again. the problem before that was that the car would just die when i come to a complete stop while im on DRIVE OR REVERSE, now when im driving it would just shut off. it would start back up with no problem, but if i accelerate on gas it would stutter and die. there's no check engine lights either. im out of ideas and dont know where to start. please anyone with any suggestions or might know the problem, please help.

try cleaning your trottle body with carb cleaner or any other good cleaner for the intake system and cleaned it out... your idle valves or probaly clogged up thats why you keep dying when you come to a stop cuz ther isnt enought air coming in to keep the revs up try it and see if this works.
