94 corolla fuel or spark problem?
My dad's corolla sputtered to a stop while he was making a turn around the corner. Now it'll crank, but won't start. My first thought was to give it a full tune up in case it was a spark issue. But my dad thinks its a fuel issue the way it sputtered and died. I forgot to check if the fuel pump primed when I turned it to "on", but I remember smelling fuel when my dad was gassing it before trying to start it. I guess my question is that should there be any fuel smell in the engine bay at all if the pump is bad? If not, I can rule out the pump and focus on other things.
