USA Shifting issues

5 speed transmission, shifts into R with no problems when car is turned off. Witht the vehicle runing, it will grind/be hard to get into gear 90% of the time when put into R. I replaced the clutch master cylinder about 1 year ago. Synchros?

Clutch is not releasing properly. It could be the slave but it can also be a problem with clutch itself. I had similar problems with a Honda when one of the damping springs fell out of the disk.

Thanks for the replies. If I shift it into first, and then quickly shift into reverse, there is no grinding. I don't know if that helps to further diagnose anything. I called a mechanic buddy and he thought it was the slave as well. Thanks again!

i just replaced my slave and master, and put mobil 1 gear oil in....

my clutch feels new (109k still on factory clutch) and i no longer grind on ANYTHING.

i use to have a random grind going 2nd to 3rd, and trying to slap into reverse too fast...
