Planning some work on the rolla

Hey guys i got a 94 toyota corolla with just a small rust spot on the quarter panel (will probably fix it when i get the chance)

I recently did oil change, gear old change (both mobil 1) new master and slave cylinder (seems like i got loads of life on my clutch after this since grab point is about 1/3 way up) I am at 109k

besides my bumper looking ugly (i park on the streets) the rest of the car isn't too bad... (some guy actually backed up ontop of my corolla once... so i need to replace headlight and a corner lamp...)

so the thing that is left on my todo list since i dont have to spend the money on the clutch... (car was tuned up not too long ago)

i have a afc neo.. that i dont know how to work since it sat around my house for so long.. lol
i got a set of eibach pro springs.. planning to get tokico hp with them (hp is about 350ish for a set?)
new set of headlight and corner lamp... (dont know which ones to get so many on ebay.. and i dont see a lot of reviews here although a lot of info of whats avai)

and a new set of wheels... looking at 15x6.5 or 15x7 tires probably 195/60R15 offset?? i think i read 35...
can anyone recommend light weight affordable wheels that wont crack like slipstream wannabes?

sorry if my questions are rather vague... I can answer any question necessary to help me sort these things out!

HELP HELP HELP THANKS!

That tire size will rub because the aspect ratio is too high.

The general rule of thumb is for tire sizing with 15" is:

15x6.5 = 195/55/15
15x7 = 205/50/15

Everything for the most part looks fine with the direction you're going.

Some good brands to check out are anything from Rays Engineering, Work, BBS, SSR, Enkei (RPF-1 are my fave).

Just choose something that fits your style preference and budget.

As for projectors, I would recommending getting an OEM HID projector retrofit done.

i am considering doing the tsx retrofit (although i dont know how i will manage that since i would have to order the projectors (easily avail on ebay) but gotta pick the right housing for it..

those wheel brands are nice but its hard for me to justify the price... esp for what i paid for the car lol... i am looking at rota j-spl or grid (i know i know kinda knock off / ricey but its what i can afford and light weight 15x6.5 j-spl at 12.4 lbs and 15x6.5 grid at 13) I really want to get the 15x7 rpf1, however at 200 per wheel, i can get a set of rotas for 2 wheels...

does anyone here sell pre retrofitted headlamp assemblies? that would be cool.

Out of those two, I would go with the Grids.

As for the retrofit, you can find clear headlight housings on ebay. TSX projectors are a good choice since it has good light output and one of the sharpest cutoffs out there.

There are plenty of retrofit DIYs out there on other forums, you'll save quite a bit if you have the time and patience to do it yourself.

also my corolla is gold, i can get a set of grid on ebay for 460 shipped, would black look better or bronze? lol... im kinda confused as to how bronze will go with my car..

thinking black will be the fail safe.. then i gotta order a set of tires...

i think i can get kumho asx mount balanced and installed for 80 a piece (what my friend told me)

so wheels will cost 780!

tsx projectors on ebay are 180!

I dont know where is a good pricing for a hid kit, can anyone help point me to the right direction for the tsx projectors?

maybe get these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/COROL...ht_4428wt_1167 take it apart, shroud the gay 3 led thing... and remove angel eye and fit in tsx projector ? does this sound like a good idea?

headlamps prior to hid will set be back 360 ish in this case... i would guess a hid kit will set me back another 200..

struts 350...

total for this idea of mine... 1690... 90 dollars more than what i paid for the car!

did anyone or is there a write up for retrofitting into http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/93-94...#ht_1108wt_941 these lights?

If it's a dark bronze, then go with bronze. Black will just look like steel wheels and be unnoticeable.

If you don't plan on driving on your wheels in the winter, then it's pointless to get all-season tires.

Get Kumho ECSTA SPTs or Yokohama S-Drives instead. They will provide much better grip and offer similar treadlife.

Looks like you have the right idea for the retrofit, that's what most people do when they modify clear ebay housings to fit OEM projectors.

the bronze is rather light...

also i might save some money by just rewiring my headlights to take higher output bulbs, with a relay and all that good stuff... save a few dollars here and there...
might just buy the second set of light that i posted and use standard bulbs, but i will get foglights to help it out too.

oh yeah i think i can get yokos for about the same price.
