Secret Intake Weapon R for a 96 Corolla 1.8L

Yea, just bought my first ever car, and I'm extremely happy about my Corolla. I was just wondering if anybody knows if this Secret Cold Air intake made by Weapon R works for my Corolla that has a 1.8L engine. Any info on this product would be great before buying it.... Don't wanna blow almost two hundred for no reason.. thanks guys for the info.

Here's the link to the product if curious:

Welcome to the forums. I wouldn't waste my money to be honest. That's not a real cold air intake. Even though that intake has an air induction hose that leads to the intake, it's still going to be sucking in hot air through the pod filter exposed in the engine bay, particularly at idle. It would be much cheaper and more effective to make your own cold air intake out of alloy pipes and silicone joiners. It'll cost half of the price of the Weapon R (if not less), work more efficiently and also look a lot better.

Have a read of post #6 that I made in this thread to find out how you can make your own:

To my knowledge there has only ever been one company to manufacture proper cold air intakes for the 7th gen Corolla (EL Prototypes) and they've been out of business for years. Companies that advertise CAIs for our cars, unless they have a picture of that SPECIFIC model of intake, are full of crap and it's all just short-ram stuff anyway. If you really want to do a cold air intake, it shouldn't be hard to get your car up on stands, take off the left front wheel, take out part of the fender well lining, take out the battery, and proceed to remove all the intake plumbing (resonator box, air directional pipes etc). There's a nice hole down beside the battery that goes to the wheelwell which is connected to the front openings in the bumper, it'd be the perfect place to put a cone filter and run piping up from there. Problem is, it takes some bends, some piping, some time, some tools, and some frustration.
