batt or alt?

so ive noticed at freeway speeds, my gages are definitely brighter than when driving at lower rpm.

any thoughts?

i going to try to get to the grounds and clean them up, see if that helps.

The only way to find out is to check out the current with the voltage meter or you may have a loose connector some where.

start the car then disconnect the negative side of the battery, if the car runs, the alternator is fine.

ive heard that can damage the ecu...

im planning on doing the t-belt service soon, and if i need to ill replace the alt, but id just like to get an idea until then.

car runs fine, no hard starts, nothing really wrong, just "noticed" this lol

Only on newer vehicles. Our corollas aren't effected by it.

Do that test if you can't get your hands on a volt meter.

i have a dm, do i just check output at the alt and the battery?

im hoping its the battery lol

Lets settle this once and for all....

NEVER EVER disconnect the battery on a running car that has ANY electronic parts!

You may get away with it, but its more probable you may blow something up with the voltage spike.

If you cant spend $3 on a voltmeter you shouldnt be working on your car anyway.
