gen 7 Vacuum or Sensor help wanted

Ok 1st off Hi to everyone on the sight 2nd off I have a 1994 Corolla. The old engin was blown and i bought the car for 400 I did a motor swap and it was running fine. I ordered a New gasket kit and when i took the intake off i realized there was no EGR valve from the intak to the head but there was a spot for one. I went and got the correct intake manifold for it and hooked everything up on it. Here is the problem. When I star the car it revs to 2 grand and its constant for about 10 seconds, Then it goes higher gradually and in about 30 seconds its at 4 grand or so..... I have tried everything for it and idk what to do. I have unhooked all vacuums and fuel lines and all the sensors and still the same thing when i rehook them back up if Anyone has a solution or an idea can you help

Why did you want to regasket an intake manifold that was running fine is my first question... make sure you've torqued everything up to spec first and sealed the gaskets as needed. When you say you got the "correct" intake manifold for it, what did you pull it from? I believe it's normal for non California cars to have the port and just have it plugged/open, but I'm not 100% on that. Make sure there are no tears in the hoses, and make sure the idle air valve is functioning properly by cleaning it and checking the electrical connection. What model of engine do you have (1.6L 4AFE or 1.8L 7AFE).

Well the Guy i bought the motor from said he thought he had a gasket leak or w/e and so i just bought the intake gasket. I got the manifold from a junkyard that is for my motor (1.8 7AFE) and it was plugged because the man who owned it before me brok the other one somehow and he still had it and the one i bought looks identical to his old on but he also had a Prizm that had a motor w/o the EGR valve and port. so he just cut a piece of medal drilled two holes and put it over it. Which it ran rgood but it needed new injectors so i bought those as well and put the new injectors in the new intake and put the new intake on. Would you sugest i put the injectors back into the old intake and re plug it if so should i buy a new gasket or will this one be fine?

Most high idle problems are related to a vacuum leak.

And now you know to CAREFULLY match up new gaskets to make sure they fit properly before installation.
