Unless you have some knowledge on working on cars, id try seeking a mechanic or a friend, this is a major job.

Well I have worked on cars before not professionally or anything but when I owned a 65 ford falcon I had to do all my own mechanical work. Never done a timing belt but hey. I probably will have it done.

Here's a DIY on how to change the timing belt. Scroll about three quarters of the way down the page for the 4A-FE/7A-FE instructions:

Thumbs up

Nice link. I just took a look at this today while changing the timing belt on my '94 Geo Prizm.

I actually needed to get the water pump replaced because of worn bearings and decided to get the belt changed at the same time.

I bought a kit on eBay for the belt, water pump, and all gaskets, including the spark plug seals on the under-side of the valve cover.

I got a handy tip, for anyone who has had trouble replacing these spark plug seals. I knocked the original ones out with a narrow blunt tool, but getting the new ones back in was a pain. I didn't have a tool to press it into place. In the end I lightly coated the outer surface of the seal with some engine oil, and I also happened to have a 36mm 1/2 drive socket which fit the edges of the seals perfectly. I lifted up the metal tabs and then by hand I was able to press the seal back into place.

Be REAL careful with ebay parts. They are cheap for a reason.... most of them are crap as well.

Hopefully you got something of OK quality.
