Help Rear strut assembly

Hi all,

I am trying to replace my rear struts and didnt notice that a small metal ring (shown in the pic below bottom middle )fell out of the original strut/spring assembly. My question is so you guys know if the ring goes between the top nut and strut mount or between the strut mount and on top of strut piston. I tried looking for a assembly drawing but no luck. Thanks for any help in advance!

its a spacer between the nut and the top plate to take up the slack on the shaft (spaces the un-threaded part)

I have a wierd question. My girl has a 94 prizm and I have trouble in the past with having to buy the toyota corolla part number and the geo parts not fitting. Anyone have any ideas whether I will need the struts for a geo or a yota?

Despite the fact that these cars SHOULD be the same except for a few cosmetic parts, reality is the manufacturers slip in a few different bits just to make life miserable. Order by year make and model!

Ehhh, I HAVE looked at the parts that come up for 94 Corollas and 94 Prizms and ALL the parts are the same except for body parts. If you look up 94 Prizm struts you WILL get the same list as 7th gen Corolla struts. There is no reason they shouldn't be interchangeable, period.

Though I could see how some parts stores could have differently listed parts for Geos. AVOID looking up Geo parts and look up Toyota instead! Unless you're dealing with body parts that aren't door handles and such.
