Alternator problem

i want to exchange my 1.3L engine alternator with the 1.6L engine alternator are both alternators exchangeable and will not affect the car electrical equipment
the reason to do so that my lights glow higher when pressing gas pedal and the electrician told me that my alternator is dying so i wanted to change it with a powerful one

You'd have to check to see if the mounting holes are the same between the 2E and the 4A-FE alternator. I assume upgrading the alternator wouldn't cause any trouble as people upgrade their alternators all the time for car stereo set-ups etc, but it would be best to check with an auto electrician first, just as a precaution. The 1300cc 2E alternator is 50-amp and the 1600cc 4A-FE alternator is 70-amp.

There are quite a few different engine variations available in various international markets. Toyota brought out two engines for the Corolla in 1300cc - The 2E 12-valve carby engine and the 4E-FE 16-valve fuel injected engine

2E and 4A-FE alternators have a slightly different mounting, the 4A-FE lower mount is wider so it wouldnt fit.

If you're having trouble finding one from a 2E engine, the 3E (1500cc) uses the exact same alternator.
