How do I add my own toggle switch?

I was cruising through ebay motors and I saw these LED interior light kits. You basically stick them anywhere and run the wires to the battery. Even though it runs on miliamps and they say it won't drain the battery, I want to install a switch so I can turn it on and off when I please instead of it always on the battery. Does anyone know how to install my own control switch, or atleast hook it up so it turns on when my headlights are on. I do have a Haynes manual, any help would be greatful, and here's the link to the part I'm talking about, thanks again.

so do you want to hook it up so that it comes on when you want ONLY, or when the headlights come on?

lets say its only when you want, then you put the switch in-line from the battery or on the earth-side of the wires, your choice.you will have to wire all 4 together before they go into the switch, so that it turns all of them on/off at once...

if you want to do it with the headlights you will have to take off the panel under the steering wheel, and the steering cowling.I am unsure what wire to tap into, but with a voltage tester to see voltage changes with lights on and off you'll find out which wire is the headlights positive wire.

Hey man thanks for the help. I'm going to do the switch in-line from the battery. And I'm going to mount the toggle switch in that big open gap above the cup holder and make use of that space. Thanks again.

no problems.
but dont forget, as with all added electrical components, add a fuse in-line from the battery positive so the car can't short and burn down!!
I'd hazard a guess that a 5-amp fuse would be suffieicnt as they're only LED's you're adding in, and power draw will be a lot less than normal bulbs
