96 corolla dead: timing belt snapped!

i need some help how to change the timing belt. I have experience with honda motors how to set up TDC with belt installation. But i was wondering if the 96 corolla the same. btw its a automatic. a link of repair manual would be great.

If you've done a Honda before this will be about the same. Only the timing marks are different. I think the Toyota crank bolt is easier to get off than the superglued Honda bolts!

so which mean the motor mount on the timing belt side needs to be taken off in order to put new belt on right? is there a auto tensioner or its a manual tension?

I am curious, at what mileage did your timing belt bust? was-it the original timing belt?

I own a 95 celica, with 188k milles. I don't know if the timing chain was replaced before. But it is the same engine as the prizm, right? 1.8 st

If it's a 1.8 then yes, not if it's a 1.6 though, but they are practically the exact same aside from displacement.

No they don't have the same notorious problem. My 7AFE burns like a mofo though.
