LEDs in gauges!

I took these 9 LED 194 socket

http://superlumination.com/images/au..._smt2_w_wm.jpg

and stuck them in my gauges and it came out like this,

I think it looks amazing. For all of you that are still using bulbs in your gauges, do this! Its easy and looks better.

Here is the website, its the second one down.
http://autolumination.com/194.htm
I used white but they have other colors.

The non tach gauges take 4 of these. I think the one with tach takes 3. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Looks good! I've been thinking about putting LEDs in mine, but I don't drive at night enough to justify doing it . Would be a good incentive to go for night drives more often though .

Looks nice!

I already find the stock bulbs in the gauges already too bright for the type of night driving I do so I usually have them set on dim.

Found some 9 LED white and 5 LED red ones one eBay for much less. Wonder if they would be any good.
9 LED White http://cgi.ebay.ca/2pcs-T10-9LED-PAIR-White-Wedge-light-bulb-2825-2921-/260650817585?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories &hash=item3cafffd831
5 LED Red http://cgi.ebay.ca/1pcs5-LED-T10-168-Red-Side-Wedge-Car-Light-Bulb-Lamp-/260650820783?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories &hash=item3cafffe4af

The same seller also has a 6 and 9 SMD LED dome light bulbs.
6 bulb http://cgi.ebay.ca/6SMD-LED-WHITE-31mm-Festoon-Dome-Light-Bulb-3022-DE3175-/260651783822?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cb00e 968e
9 bulb http://cgi.ebay.ca/NEW-42mm-High-Power-9-SMD-LED-Festoon-Dome-Bulb-White-/260654426960?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cb036 eb50
Not sure which one is the right size. The is 6 bulb is 32x17mm, and the 9 bulb is 42x16mm.

I haven't tried any of these, but the price is right.

I've been thinking of going for red, but it might be a bit intense. The other alternative is to go for white for everything except I'd put red in the RPM redline. That would look quite cool in my opinion

Here's a photo of a what it would look like in all red:

All of those bulbs would work, try not to go more than nine though, if the tower gets bigger it won't fit. As for the dome lights, I used to have the 6 LED one. It didn't distribute the light evenly so I but back the bulb that was there.

I decided to leave my car covers off tonight so I could see how strong the factory bulbs were, and I was quite surprised to see the brightness they produce.

Here's a photo (I can't even begin to tell you how hard it was to take this photo. Took about 20 tries to get one that wasn't too blurry, lol) -

I ordered the 4-star SMD LED bulbs from autolumination ( 4 LEDs on top, none on side) and they sent me 5. I ordered four of them, but one didn't work. No return policy either...

Mine were super-white but they have a purplish tint to them when they're shining through the speedo numbers. The mileage dials look completely fine (straight bright white) but the MPH and everything else thats transparent has that purple tint to it.
Kind of dissapointing.

But hey, better than the greenish-white that was previously in my speedometer.

i just installed some leds from superbrightleds.com

ive dealt with them before, and have had good results.

i ordered the 194 whp6 in cool white (4) had one extra.

http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...hp6.htm#photos

and

1 74xhp3 in cool white for the hvac

http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...P3.html#photos

sometimes the lens for the hvac is a bit burned from years of use, i used a dremel with a cutting bit to clean the burned stuff out.

I'm a sucker for blue because it matches my interior. I've used one with an inverted lense so it lights the gauges but not the rest of the dash, giving a cool, subtle feel to the lighting of the gauges. I still haven't found a bulb yet for the center dash, I can't remember which size/type though.
