JVT vs. OBX Headers

Basically what the title says. Does anybody have any opinions or heard anything about the two? I'm thinking of replacing my headers and downpipe because I have a leak in my downpipe =/

Here are the two:
(JVT)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JVT-E...Q5fCarQ5fParts

(OBX)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-E...item23038573a5

So yea, basically need opinions on which one to choose from. I'm kind of leaning on the JVT because of the price. But I don't want it to be a piece of shieeet.

P.S. I have a 4A-FE and I was wondering how big the fuel tank is in gallons? It seems like I'm not getting great gas mileage because on a full tank I can barely get 230 miles from a fill up. (Full to Almost Empty)

Thanks for everything guys. I appreciate all the help.

The fuel tank capacity is 13.2 gallons (50 litres)

Neither brand is better than the other.

Both are equally poorly made.

Well, take this into consideration, a new downpipe ALONE is like $800-$900 from Toyota and your getting a manifold, downpipe and gaskets for $80 seems a little too good to be true...

Lack of quality control and attention to detail.

They're known for fitting poorly and poor welds.

It's really hit and miss so if you get lucky, you might get a good fitting and performing header but otherwise, you'll have to deal with customer service if you don't.

Yeah 230 miles on a full tank is pretty bad for a 4A-FE. If you don't thrash it everywhere you go, you should get at least 340 miles from a full tank.

When was the last time you changed the spark plugs, oil and leads? Have a look at the temperature gauge next time you're driving the car, it should sit on half or just under. If it's lower than that then there's a chance that your thermostat needs replacing, which can play a big role when it comes to fuel consumption.

There are a lot of other factors which could contribute to the poor fuel mileage, such as dirty or leaking injectors, vacuum leaks, exhaust leaks, sticking EGR valve, incorrect timing, malfunctioning oxygen sensor, worn valve guides, bad fuel pressure regulator or fuel filter, clogged PCV valve etc etc. Start by checking the simple things first and go from there

Yea, I know the leaking exhaust is killing me... I need to get that fixed asap. And I'm planning to change the spark plugs/wires (NGK IRIDIUM) before winter hits. Plus, I'll be flushing out all the coolant stuff and changing my oil before the winter too. As far as my temperature goes, it sits right how you described it, a little bit below halfway. Also, my dad was going to throw some fuel injector cleaner so that'll help too. So that's all good. Damn, Chicago winters suck lol.

I just never realized all those lead to fuel consumption problems. I'm still learning all the bits and pieces to car knowledge since I just hopped in haha. Thanks for the help man, I would've been googling for hours on information that might not even been correct. Saved me lots of time seriously, thanksss

There are a whole lot of items that affect fuel economy. A couple were mentioned but there can be a LOT more because our cars have aged.

Just relyimg of the fuel guage for mileage in a tank isnt enough. You might have a gauge that says empty though its only 2/3 empty. WHATS YOUR MPG? Thats the real measure. My wagon consistently gets 30-35mpg. Yours should be similar.

As far as the headers go... as pointed out they all are cheap poorly fitting crap, but the one you get might last longer than the cracking crap you already have.

I did notice a different fitting in the header between the two models, but it might be from a "generic" pic.

I have a totally different opinion on OBX products. They consistently fit just fine and they are always knock-offs of the highest quality designs. OBX is a knock-off brand, but the most preferred one for a reason.

yea man, I feel you and I need to fix this thing because according to all the info in this thread, my gas mileage is really poor due to a leaking exhaust.. (my downpipe has a hole right where it connects to the arm)

There's a bunch of really high quality $300 headers for our cars from Pacesetter and other manufacturers.

The question is, is it worth it to spend those $300 over $100 on eBay for some OBX ones? I say 'um no'.

I found this exhaust manifold on ebay. Comes with the hardware and the heat shield. If you don't think or know, you have any other exhaust leaks its not so bad its only 59$ shipped. I have a question on the link i showed it says no 02sensor hole and there's some other links that come with 02 sensor hole. I was wondering which prizms /corollas came with that 02 sensor hole? I looked at my prizm and the 02 sensor hole is after the manifold. So this would be the correct manifold for me But anyone can answer that question for me?

***Update...
Im gonna answer my own question, since i just looked into my Haynes manual. The exhaust manifold that has the 02 Sensor hole would be the California emissions vehicles.
