rotors option

so guys i ordered brembo pads for my corolla 97

no i am wondering which rotors to buy
i was gona buy the brembo ones

but after reading the reviews i am kind of reluctant on spending money on brembo rotors
so now i have these options

the car has 170k miles on it

brembo or oem blanks are the best you can buy

I'd spend the extra cash and get the brembo blank rotors. They've been nothing but great for me.

Let us know how you like those brembo pads by posting a review with your thoughts on them.

Err, I dunno what reviews you read but Brembos are awesome.

Noobs EVERYWHERE hate on their rotors for no reason.

When i replaced my prizms rotors i put some NAPA rotors they're pretty good. Had them for 40k miles no warpage. Pads i put the cheapest discount had. Replaced them twice but dont care lol. The geo isn't exactly a car ima be driving hard in. I just need it to stop when i brake. So if you got the money go with brembo or oem. The napa ones were like 16 or 18 each back then. Replaced my accords recently and they were 22$. So i doubt prices have gone up a lot.

The only two things to NOT get are -Drilled or dimpled rotors because they crack at the holes. -Rotors made in China or India.

As mentioned the Brembos are very good and I have bought NAPA in the past and they have been good quality as well.

I would recommend OEM toyota replacements. The original ones lasted a long time, and the OEM replacements should do the same thing. I would recommend as much rust from the hub as possible before you put the new rotors on. In addition, I would recommend applying anti-sieze compound to the hub after sanding it. You will be thanking yourself next time you have to remove the rotor.

i have slotted and drilled ROTORA 10" front rotors and have no problems with them no cracks from the holes or anything of that sort, i find that happens when people play it cheap and have ther OEM's drilled, not one of the wises of decisions to make.

I wouldnt have thought it would happen either intil the OEM rotors on my motorcycle started getting radial cracks around the holes. I'm sure it DOES depend on the materials used. Nobody who drilled the old stainless rotors ever had them crack.

I went with the cryo-treated slotted ones from TireRack and have no complaints in several years of driving. There's vibration when braking but it's not too bad. That, Akebono ceramic pads, stainless lines and ATE Super Blue fluid will make you stop pretty damn fast. From experience.

Of course don't forget that the master cylinder is getting old as well and may be contributing to pedal slop.
