New corolla Owner! (Also Questions)

Hello everyone! I'm new here, just got my first car ever, bought it from a neighbor, a 1993 Corolla DX with around 150k miles. I had a complete tune up done on it and it runs great! Just went 100 miles yesterday on it. Anyways I don't know much about cars, but I'm willing to learn! In the near future I want to install a short ram intake, I'll just buy that kit from Oreilly's, then upgrade it to the cold air intake later on like that tutorial on these forums (isn't search great!) So I'm pretty confident about that.

Also it's missing a hubcap and one hubcap is pretty scratched up, theyre ugly anyways, but I found these amazing looking hubcaps on Amazon,

Amazon Amazon

I really want these but then I saw that my car is hubcaps with 4 lugs and these hubcaps have 5 lugs so I just wanted to be clear with this, will they fit? Cause if they do that's awesome! Oreilly's has some really crappy looking ones that I don't like at all

Here's some pics:

Also, anywhere I can find a rear taillight cheap? Or mybe just that white strip under? It looks messed up.

I hope to become a valued member of these forums! There are lots of awesome tutorials and information here!

My cousin has the exact same corolla as yours

It's a hubcap, so the 4 lug, 5 lug shouldn't matter. you really splurge on those, pretty pricey
We went to wally world and picked up some new hubcaps for $16 bucks.

We went to the pick-your-parts off of beach blvd in stanton to find some interior parts. I don't remember if they had any decent taillights. If you have the time, it's a $2 entrance fee and you can stroll around. Remember to bring some tools.
I remembered they had about 3 corollas in there.

Pretty cool, thanks! I think Imma go to one of those pick your part or junkyard places with my dad. By the way I think the price of those hubcaps isn't for one, but for a set of 4 I think! If so that's a pretty good deal for the most awesome corolla hubcaps ever!

Welcome to the forums! Congrats on the purchase of the Corolla! . As mentioned above, since they're hubcaps the stud pattern won't matter as they don't actually do anything, lol. If you're ever looking for wheels however, make sure that they're 4x100 (4-stud). As you would have seen, there's plenty of excellent information here. The DIY thread should come in handy for you. You'll no doubt know your Corolla inside and out in no time . If you have any questions about the forums, just give me a yell

No problem . Yeah a Haynes manual will definitely come in useful. It explains how to inspect, remove and install almost every part on your car. Plus since it guides you to do most of the work on your own, it pays for itself in no time

Definitely.

However, if you can find a Toyota factory service manual for a good price, buy it as it's more detailed.

Those are supremely dependable old cars (not a cut)! 150K is not bad mileage either... but those Amazon hubcaps will look terrible on it.

Nope. Chrome looks tacky, regardless if they're hubcaps or actual alloys

Honestly, painting the steelies might be better. Aftermarket wheel covers are normally pretty bad looking man. Just my opinion.

You do realize the difference between rims and hubcaps?

Those will just fit over your existing steel wheels, which are solid black. So if you put those tiny spoke hubcaps over it you will not gain an inch in terms of appearance. Get hubcaps that cover the entire wheel. I went with the big plastic chrome spiky looking ones from 'wally world' for my old Sentra, yes they looked tacky, and it was awesome.
