About to do an intake cleaning, what is this?

The directions say don't spray the intake with the MAF in there, but these cars don't have a MAF right? All they have is a manifold pressure sensor on the passenger side firewall? Is this just a throttle position sensor?

The MAF is the one connected to your air box filter

Found this: http://www.corolland.com/corolla/where-things-are.gif

Certainly looks like it's the TPS.

whats pictured is indeed a tps.

if i recall, the map sensor is separate from the manifold.

if youre going to clean the intake, simply remove the rubber hose leading to the throttle body, then spray inside, with the car off, move the throttle so you can clean the edges of the blade and the circumference of the body itself. you can fire up the car briefly with the hose disconnected, it will likely smoke and idle rough for a bit, but that will pass.

A MAF is a big sucker with lots of wires going to it. Our cars dont have that system.
