4age 20V silvertop power problem?

Hi all,
I have problem with my 4AGE 20v sivertop.
It goes from 0-100km/h in 10sec (normal is 7sec?)

Can you help me find problem?
Engine is swapped in Corolla E10 3door hatchback.
Wheels 17"x7,5" with 205/40 tires.

On engine I made only:
Denso IK20 spark plugs
Custom air intake
Custom exhaust

Known problems:
Spark plug leads are in bad condition and one of them is from 4efe.
Distributor cap is not in good condition, one output is damaged.

I dont think this big difference can be made only by "known problems", or yes?
Thank you for your answers.

It can. Does it idle smoothly or a bit rough?

Even if the "known problems" aren't 100% the cause of the sluggish acceleration, they should definitely be fixed (and aren't that expensive to do).

Nusdogg : idle is going smoothly, i hope.

speedy25 : yes, this is problem, because I dont know history of this engine, I buy it in toyota corolla ceres and then I swap it in to my Corolla E10.

Hiro Protagonist : In my f***ing country is pretty expensive to buy parts for this engine

Would it be cheaper trying to source them from the UK? There should be a decent-sized 20v following there (helped that they got the 3-door FXGT with the silvertop), and postage etc would be much cheaper than from say Japan or the US.

In Australia just about everything for the 20vs has to come from Japan as they were never sold here, only grey imports, and even then it's not _too_ expensive (some of the bigger Toyota dealerships can get the stuff imported in, which helps).

well mitman you will need a distributor, spark plug leads perferbly NGK's and you see those 17x7.5 rims those will slow down your acceleration abit, your gonna move off abit slow at start but as you gain momentum you will kick ass at top end because of the rotating mass of the rims, you want faster acceleration? change the parts that need changing and eather chage the rims to racing light weight rims or go down too 15" or 16" rims the lighter the better oh btw make sure they are strong as well.

Have you actually dynoed your car yet?

Doing so would shine some light on how big of a power problem deficiency there is.

gt limited : now it is manual (but it was auto)

topnotch : thanks for useful info I will do it as soon at it will be possible

PhatRoyale: car is still not dyoned, but I make some progress with distribuion and cam wheels, i found it was bad set. So I set is how it can be.

Now it makes with 2 peoplne on board and my rims(17"x7.5" 205/40) 0-100km/h in 8.sec

I hope this is good, or not?
