Weak power windows

When it's cold, and with winter coming, I know my windows tend to roll up real slowly. Could it be just the motors that need replacing?

Typically slow windows are from lack of lubricant.

yeah makes sense, specially in the winter when all the rubber seals start to get harder :p

I remember one winter my windows were rolling up really slowly if the engine wasnt on...then my battery died a month later and after replacing it, it was fine again.

just a thought!

I heard about that too..weak old battery may cause windows to roll up slowly as well. This battery has been in the car for like ever..maybe I'll try changing it and see first before accessing behind the door panels.

yeah man def, theres a lot of tell tell signs that a battery or something in the electrical system needs to be checked. Slow windows, all the interior/exterior lights dim when your idling at a red light, specially if you have the rear defroster and AC on. Typical life on a battery is what 5 years right? Load test that jawn!

On another note, my factory toyota battery lasted the longest, almost 7 years before I replaced it. then I replaced it with a Energizer and it failed after 3 years. I'm currently running a Bosch on 3 years and it seems to be running well.

My windows are all different speeds... none of them fast. It does alter based on battery power, but even it is slow with a new battery. I keep meaning to lub the edges of the windows, but I'm not sure how to go about it. I know that removing the interior door panel makes it go up a lot faster, so that's where I'd start.

At least yours still work. My left rear one moves slowly for about an inch then just stops. It moves a little bit again after a few minutes before it stops again. It's been like that for 2 years and I barely put the rear windows down so I just got over it.
