Smile Not Starting after Oil Change

Hi All TN members.

I did an oil change on my 1994 corolla 1.8 tonight . I filled up my engine with 3.5 L (3.69 Qts) of 10w30 oil and i noticed it was a bit over the full line on the dipstick. as i put the amount of oil recommended from service manuals i did not seem too concern about the overfill as it would only be minor overfill.
Did the leak test by starting my car. I noticed when i started the car it had a sort of burp then the usually crank and start.

Turned the car off after a couple of minutes as i checked the oil filter and drain plug is tight and not leaking any oil.

About an hour later i started the car again it had that initial burp then crank and start. made a short trip and went home no problems starting the car again on the way back home just that burp then crank + start again.

Now finding it a bit odd that it is doing that i went back out a couple hours later and tried to start the car again this time it would not start. no clicking or cranking .

Turned the key off , then back to start nothing would happen until 3-4 tries then it would just start. I had to wait till the warning beeps ended then cranked the starter and it would start

any ideas what is causing this to happen. can it be the oil pressure ?

is it my starter ? usually when the starter goes there is a loud clicking sound . I did not hear this .

Battery seem fine . but going to test the battery

Please reply , need help with this one

Yeah test the battery. Also check all the connectors. You may not have even touched it and yet something like the wire to the starter could have come loose. Did you ever try draining out just a little bit of it? Having your engine stuffed with oil all the way to the brim is definitely not a good idea.

Problem solved

I found out what was wrong . I am guessing that the time i did the oil change was just a coincidence

It was the starter gone bad. it was not the starter motor but the solenoid . did a removal and replaced with a re manufactured one.

would of tried to repair the starter myself but did not have time as the car was parked in a parking lot and i needed it fixed up asap .
