Question 8th gen front bumper to 7th gen corolla

Hi my names abe and I'm from Puerto Rico. I have a 1993 corolla Station wagon DX 1.8L. My question is how can I install the 2001 front bumper onto 1993 corolla? Thanks for everything in advance.

Hi, you mean the 8th gen bumper? I did this twice on my car. It requires a lot of work depending on how you go about it. You can swap the entire front end, but I only used the bumper with the 7th gen lights.

I have 2 write ups (both of which will change when I move to a dedicated server)

Hi gold94corolla as a matter of a fact I had googled a bit about the subject and had found your cardomain page earlier today but I didn't like the way you went with the project and didn't understand some of your explanations. But let me say that your car is awesome and the outcome is really great! Also yes I think your right to say that it is a 8th gen bumper 2001. I have it in my room next to my bed, bought it last week and now planning on buying the front lip for it and side skirts. Oh which reminds me what side skirts did you buy for the 7th gen rolla because it seems that there aren't any made specifically for it only 8th gen and up. I might be wrong but if your could enlighten me then I would be very grateful!

Hey man, yeah the 9th gen is waaaaaaay different so that would really be something to fit it! But given your year and location, I figured you meant 8th gen.

Cool, you found my page. But I don't use that bumper anymore because I wanted more of a stock look.

OK, so now you have the bumper. What is your goal, you don't like how I did it, how so? How would you do it differently? I know of some pics that I could find.

Also, I will be glad to offer further explanation on anything that confused you

As for side skirts, you can fit any side skirts from 7th or 8th gen rolla. They are the same. There are plenty of 7th gen side skirts. I have 3 sets of side skirts lol. The first were made my Erebuni, and I got them on discount clearance on Ebay because they were discontinued. Good luck finding them. Then, I got the usual side skirts you see most people with... but I did not use them. Now, I have JDM side skirts, OEM Toyota from Japan. These are great!

So yeah, I am here to help

Ok so correct me if I'm wrong I can install any 8th gen side skirt on 7th gen Station wagon with out modifying it?

Also The thing I didn't like about the 8th gen bumper that you put was that you filled in the groves that are next to the center grille cut the corners and fit the 7th gen projectors. The reason why I bought the 8th gen bumper was because I wanted to put the 8th gen headlights. But hey that was your style and I want to have my style and not copy anyone.

I also bought a new radiator support for my car because my wagon's is bent on the sides and rusted. I can't get a tow truck to pull her from the front because she will break and have to tow her from behind. but thankfully there has not been any towing needed for some time .

I asked a friend at college who has on his 7th gen corolla the exact same mod that I wanted how he did it and he said that he bought: both fenders so he could modify the originals to fit the original 8th gen signal lights and the top part of the radiator support so the 8th gen headlights could fit in. I think this is to much stuff just to fit it in and want to be sure about all the stuff he told me to buy.

Yes, the sides on the wagon are the same as the sedan. Wagon=Sedan=7th gen=8th gen

OK, now I understand what you mean. Yeah you want to swap the entire front end for the 8th gen. I did not do that because I wanted my projector head lights, none are available for the 8th gen.

So, considering, you need a LOT of parts. You need the bumper, chrome strip in the grille, head lights, corner lights, hood, fenders, radiator support, maybe the hood latch and hinges, etc. You need to cut the fenders in half and use the 8th gen fender at the lights, like your friend said. Basically copy what he did.

I do want it to look like the original 8th gen but I'm not going to put the 8th gen hood. Just the bumper and factory headlights with corner lights but yeah you got the idea now.

Thanks for the info on the side skirts. What I will do is buy the whole body kit for the 8th gen and place it on with the new bumper I have. Next check I get will be for that.

Cool, well it won't look right if you don't change the hood with the lights but you can figure it out as you go lol.

And that body kit will fit your car... the rear pieces fit on the 7th gen also. SO it will work. That is the lip I had on my front bumper.
