Having some issues

Well after doing some higway driving i noticed the car seems to be at high rpms and after i listened to it a little better i cant hear the change between 3rd to 4th gear ( automatic) what could be causing this? all the other gears are just fine , now i do notice that i "feel" the car at higher or lower speeds than what the gauge cluster reads , bad speed sensor ?

also the ac fan was wired to come on whenever the ignition was set to on , now it doesnt do anything not even after i turn on the ac , i tested the relay but got the same results , is there another fuse that controls this?

thank you

If your transmission does not shift from 3rd to overdrive then there could be a number of problems. Now since I don't know much about auto's, the general census is to check your transmission fluid first. If the fluid is low, then your torque converter is going to act funny, and will eventually overheat. If your torque converter is bad. Then your transmission is going to slip. Meaning if you stomp on the gas, the RPM's will go mega high, and it won't change into gear unless you lift off the throttle, or it won't even change at all. I'll have to see if there are any shift solenoids on the tranny in the repair manual.

So locate the auto tranny oil dipstick. Check the level, and more importantly smell the dipstick for burning.

As far as your fan dilemma, check your fuses. And make sure your aren't confusing your AC fan if you've got it turned on once starting the car.

fluid on the tranny isnt low and it doesnt smell burnt or anything. also the change between the rest of the gears is really smooth.

at 65 mph, the rmps in overdrive should be under 2500.

Is is cold when you notice this issue? Mine won't shift completely until it warms up.

Yes, it's plug-and-play. No modification necessary.

Check the OD enable button on the shifter, does it turn on the light on the dash when you press it and it pokes out?

The tach cluster will fit right in but your fuel gauge will be hilariously wrong except for the "three gallons left" light, this has come up many times before.

i totally wouldnt trust the gps speed unless it is a far noticeable difference from urs, unsure of how the speed relates to a tranny issue except for the speed sensor itself

No button on the shifter = 3 speed. If you have a 1.6L you have a 3 speed.

lol, so you don't have overdrive! Well glad it's not broken

I had no trouble with my gas gauge. Plug and play for DX corolla.

than put the stock one in lol. You just have to make sure that the gas gauge points the same way when you install it, and you will want to change the odometer reading to match.
