Car bottoms out easily when there are more than 2 people.

Is this normal? What can be done to fix this? Are my springs going bad? 96 Corolla Dx

Springs AND struts. There also may be other worn out pieces you may need to do the job right.

Sounds like the shocks / struts are gone. Any idea if they have ever been replaced? If not, they are LONG overdue.

It's going to cost you some big bucks unless you can do it yourself

I have just replaced my factory Springs and struts for a set of lowering springs combined with tokico blue Struts, Mine were already off another corolla so the strut and spring where already together which made the job easier, and let me tell you even then it was not easy. The job took around 4 hours, problems I had where as follows:
The brake lines in the rear go through a bracket on the side of the strut, so the brake lines had to be taken apart, if anyone has done this they know you can easily mess up the lines when doing this.(you only have to do this on the rear)
Second problem I had was the sway bar endlinks where almost impossible to get off, it came down to using a pair of vice grips and a air gun to get them off.
The top bolts on the struts where not located in the trunk where I had believed them to be, you have to remove the side edges of the back seat, which requires removing a bolt below the edge of the seat cushion(which is a pain) then pulling up on the side till it unclips(feels like your going to break it but i didnt)
Besides that the front is a peace of cake, the brake lines just run through a clip on the side of the strut which can be undone,
Oh and just remember if you do this you have to reassemble and bleed your rear brake lines so will need some brake fluid on hand. If you decide to do this a automotive lift is the way to go so you don't have to be crawling around on the ground all day. Good luck.

Those rears should be good to go, but it sounds like new fronts are in your plans now!

How're your strut mounts? If you pop the hood and look at the strut towers, does the stuff around the bolts dome upwards and look like it's cracked in a bunch of rings? If so, they're probably all bad, that'll give you a bunch less travel as well.

Ya or the way i top off my side cushions. Was if u pull from the top and with your hand in the center. You can bend the cushion and are able to unclip it off the hook. This way i didn't have to remove the bottom bolt.

When I had the rear struts changed a year ago, I didn't change the strut mounts. Could the strut mounts be the problem or has the rear struts gone bad already. My car is at 84k btw, bumpy road miles.

I have scraping issues ONLY on the passenger rear side cause of being lowered. I have no idea why, have checked the struts and springs and they are prefectly fine. Funny thing is the strut has gone bad on the drivers side and I bottom out there, but never scrape. its all a mystery to me so far lol

Not really, you want a reason to get another car.
