1994 Toyota Corolla Ceres

Hey guys RAS_E here, how's it going. Haven't had no issues with the Ceres for a while now but i guess it time. If anyone can offer up any suggestions to this problem I'm having.

- the overflow bottle for the radiator keeps spilling the excess after I've been driving. I've so far changed the thermostat, had the radiator cleaned/rebuild changed hoses, only use coolant but now I'm lost.-

so if anyone can give me a heads up idea i would really appreciate it.

You forgot to replace the radiator cap. Make sure the neck is clean and the top isnt corroded so the gasket can seal. After that get tested for combustion gases in the coolant. If its positive then its head gasket time.

hey speedy25, thanks but I forgot to mention that I already changed the cap. Is that the neck where I changed the thermostat?

Speedy25, there is no corrosion around the neck of the radiator, it was cleaned recently.

Topnotch, i fill the overflow bottle to the maximum level indicated on the bottle and not over that limit.

CorollaJoe, would the car still be driving without over-heating if the head gasket was bad?

How about the gasket for around the edge of the thermostat would that make an enormous difference?

Thanks for all the help so far guys in addressing my situation.

yeah the car can definitely keep driving without overheating had that happen on a civic I used to own, I drove it for six months before the headgasket finally blew out, it all depends where it is leaking at near the cylinders, I wasnt getting any antifreeze in my oil and people kept tellin me I was wrong that It wasnt the headgasket but finally it blew one day and the antifreeze started pouring out the manifold.

it could be a headgasket issue, you can check it out by first start in the morning ( cold engine ) with the radiator cap off if it bubbles up then its a head gasket issue for sure and this also happened to me but i dont fill the overflow bottle to the fill mark i put in half way up to the mark..... but about 4 months later i had signs of headgasket failier, white smoke coming out the exhaust n so forth.

As mentioned by Topnotch in the post above this one, the radiator overflow bottle fluid level should be halfway, between 'MIN' and 'MAX', when the engine is cold. It definitely shouldn't be filled to the 'MAX' mark
