So I just installed a Weapon R Secret Weapon Short Ram on my stock 7AFE. It sounds great and from what I can feel, I have slightly increased power. The problem comes when I come off the line full throttle. Unless I put the transmission in first (I have an auto) it will shift into second gear at 25mph. I have no tach, so I have no idea what the RPMs are at, but I know that they are not even close to redline. Any ideas why this is and what I can do to resolve it?
This happens because your computer isn't used to it yet. When I installed my short ram I described the same problem with the car not downshifting to 1st if I stomped it when doing over 30MPH. Since then the car has learned and tends to downshift if I stomp it when going under 35MPH. It's supposed to learn faster if you reset your ECU by disconnecting the negative battery cable.
Also @ Bitter, my car's 1st and 2nd gears end at 45 and 70. 80 is a bit much for 2nd, 3rd gear ends at 90 I think.

Also, full throttle is bad for low end power. When taking off on 1st your car will make the 0-20 much faster being at just over half throttle, then slam it when you hit 20. Use your gear shifter to control your 1st to 2nd to 3rd shift and you'll be a happy man.

its been a while since I was in the geo, but I'm sure 3rd gear on the A245E ran past 90.
I remember I took a little slack out of the kickdown cable to get it to shift at lighter throttle and upshift a little later, made passing easier.
And I'm not talking stupid like the 97 Camry in front of me the other day that tried to bust a hot turn but ended up swerving way off course and smashing into the sign post instead, ahaha.
