This conversion has been done many times in the past (in fact, the JDM AE101 Corolla GT came with a 4A-GE 20v Silvertop from factory), and there's a lot of information about it here on the forums, so I'd recommend doing a search. Go to 'Advanced Search', type in a single keyword (such as '4AGE', 'Swap', 'Silvertop' etc) and make sure you click the option in the drop-down box which says 'Search Titles Only'. The engine and transmission mounts are all the same, you just need to change the wiring loom, ECU etc. You can use your standard C50 or C52 gearbox, but I'd recommend using the C56 gearbox as the ratios are matched to the engine and will perform the best.

A member of these forums actually wrote out a very detailed DIY on this particular swap (he used a Blacktop engine, but the process is the same). Here's the link:

What Kiwi-Corolla said. Please perform a search next time.

It's quite a popular option for a swap.

As long as you buy the entire engine/tranny, with all parts, ECU, wiring, you should have everything you need.

When I joined up here I went looking for the same info and found next to nothing when I did a search. I think theres a few more now but I found more useful info on another site. (dont know if its proper to post competing URL's.)

Good luck on the swap. I may do the same sometime in the future.

Looks like that kit has everything. As long as you already have a stick shift it's all you really need. Though you do need to have the engine harness worked on so that it will work with your car's external electrical components.

Make sure you get clutch lines as well as the slave and master cylinder. Those parts are pretty cheap on rockauto.com

I went to toyota and got all clutch lines for only 84 dollars. Make sure you get the downpipe for the 20v too.

I have gotten all the parts to complete this swap now I just need to put it in but with work its hard to find time. Goodluck though its definitely going to be a fun build!
