Sensors are fairly cheap. Just buy a new one, or at least do the research to find out if yours is feeding the electronics the right information.

Well i'm in my last year of college and im almost at 400,000kms (I know that low for a Corolla but the way I drive it, shes getting a little rough around the edges) so i'm going be ready to upgrade. I would rather live with the problem than buy a new sensor, but since I had a spare I thought i'd try it out, its only a 5 min job.
Unfortunately the replacement sensor (which was a shiny brass colour and looked in great shape compared to the one I pulled out of my car which was dull and had alot of white deposits) didnt entirely fix the problem, it does seem to be better but it still struggles a bit to get up to 1200-1300rpm on starting. I have only tried its a few times, I dont know if maybe the ECU takes soon time to recognize it or something.
