ECU Replacement

hey guys! can someone help me. my ecu got stolen and i need to replace it. how do i know which is the right one for my car. a friend told me that ecu's have codes that match my engine. by the way my car is an ae101 with a 4afe engine/manual transmission. thanks!

you just need one with the right emissions spec and trans option, preferably the same year/trans. I don't think it has to be from a corolla.

You want to make sure it is compatible. You need to replace it with the same part# that came out of it. If you PM your VIN, I can try and get you the part#

VIN# should be on the dash of the car or in your registration paperwork.
