im thinkin bout doin an engine swap on my AE92 nd im thinkin bout doin a 4A-GE AE111 swap but dnt know what year model to look for.. nd whats the diff. betwwen the silver top nd blktop??

The 4A-GE 20v Blacktop motor came in selected models after 1995. It came in the Corolla BZ Touring wagon (both AE101 and AE111), Carib BZ Touring wagon, Levin BZ-G, Levin BZ-R and the Sprinter GT (AE111).

The main differences between the 4A-GE 20v Silvertop and the 4A-GE 20v Blacktop is the lighter internals and introduction of VVT. The Blacktop also has a lighter flywheel, larger throttle bodies etc. Because of this, the Blacktop makes 5hp more than the Silvertop.

4age 20V have been swapped into ae86 right down to ae111, caribs, FX gt, GT corolla's etc difference between blk top and silver top is that the blk top is a more powerfull version than the silver top here is a link that shows you all the generations of the A series engines from the 1a straight down to the 4age 20v and even the 5a and 7a so read up and enjoy hope this helps http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_A_engine.
