steering rack problems

In the last year I've had 5 steering racks put on a 95 Corolla-2 in the last week that are lasting about 10 miles before they start acting up. Wheel jerks back and forth when the rack is malfunctioning. These are rebuilt racks. Any advise out there?

make sure the system is totally flushed of debris and old fluid and purge the air correctly.

turn the rack to the left and right lock with the engine off while someone adds fluid to the reservoir, back and forth until no air is purged. with the rack at the left lock, turn the car on briefly and back off and add fluid as needed, then goto the right lock and do the same. wait about 10 minutes and repeat the whole process. then start the car and work the wheel side to side lock to lock, there should be almost no whining or frothing of the fluid. if there is, shut it down and wait for the air to settle up and then repeat the whole bleeding process again.

It's very rare to see a bad steering rack on a 95 Corolla regardless of mileage. Make sure the belt on the pump is tight and not worn.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say its not the rack but debris in the pump. Theres no reason for more than 2 racks to be defective!
