Starter Issue Just Spins

I have this problem with my starter. It takes several tries to engage the starter to crank the motor. It sounds like the over-running clutch in the starter is going out. It's rather annoying after a while.

I wanted to get second opinions if anyone has had similar issues. If so how much are parts for the starter?

I probably need to find the over-running clutch part.

Let me know if anyone has any good links on parts.

It could also be bad teeth on the flywheel, or something really dumb like the starter bolts have come loose.

Unless you have a good supplier of internal parts in your area, its easier AND usually cheaper just to get a reman starter.

cool thanks. Yeah the manufactured part is $100. I think Ill just buy it. According to the starter manual it says it's a failing over-running clutch inside the starter.
