gen 7 Do AE111 Seatbelts fit AE101?

Hi

I need to replace front and rear seatbelts on a 1993 Corolla Sedan (AE101, 4A-FE, 1.6L. manual).

I have the option of buying a complete set in good condition from an AE111 Levin.

Have looked all over the net but can't find a definite answer as to whether they are compatible.

Will these fit my AE101?

Thanks for your time.

Graeme

Anyone? I'm going to lose my option to buy them otherwise.

Or even advice on where to find out compatibility would help.

Thanks for your time.

Hi Graeme, welcome to the forums. That's a good question. I've never tried Levin seatbelts in a Corolla before. There's a good chance that they could be different as the Levin is a 2-door, but there's only one real way to find out. There are a number of people wrecking Corollas on TradeMe. Might be worth checking out some on there just to be on the safe side.

Best of luck, and Merry Christmas!

I have ae111 seats in my ae101 and had to change the seatbelt stalks on the seats over to ae101 stalks as the "tongue" on the belt latch was bigger on the ae111, if you are using the whole ae111 assembly this wont be an issue though.
Keep in mind that if you are buying belts from a wrecked car that they could be damaged from the accident, I know wreckers arent allowed to sell them coz of the damage they go though in an accident

Hi Guys

Thanks for your replies. Not certain that I want to take the risk of trying the AE111s - the rear set look fine but not sure about the front ones. Got another day or so to decide so will remove one of my back seat belts to get a better look at what I need.

Thanks
Graeme

Hi

For anyone who is interested the rear Levin seatbelts are unsuitable for my Corolla. The Corolla are 3 point attachment while the Levin are two point. The front seatbelts should fit but require buckle stalk assembly/stalk to be replaced as well, as the existing Corolla ones do not match. Am having a look at a place here in Christchurch that has second hand belts later this week and will report back.

Online there are options for new front belts - I need to just check standards compliance first though.

Cheers
Graeme
