JDM H4 headlights

Question for those of you that installed JDM style H4 headlights with the little high beam bulb on your Corolla, is the light output brighter than the oem ones (lights up the road better) and also how do you wire the high beam? I can't decide whether to get them or go with these other ones by Depo.

Thnx!

JDM style:

iv got the jdm ones..
i use h4-2 hid in them, the low beam is the hid whilst the high beam is yellow.
usually beam is a little higher than oem but that can be adjusted by the screw

Thanks mate, but I will be using regular halogens since afermarket HIDs in California are illegal (although it's more like put them in at your own risk). My question is how do I connect the high beam bulb socket to that tiny little one in the JDM headlight hehe. Do I have to do any splicing?

that little bulb youre talking about it called a city light

i wired that bulb to my corner lights

and for the high beam i also had the h4-2 bulb and i wired the hid bulb to my low beam wiring harness and then the two wires from the high beam bulb to the high beam wiring harness

i ended up taking the jdm lights since they didnt light the road up as much as the oem ones did

i had them in for like two days now they sit in storage lol

im willing to sell them with the h4-2 bulbs and the jdm grille that came with it. PM if interested

I see, thanks, I'd rather not do any wiring work etc in case I sell the car. I might give the Depo ones a try then.. thanks for the offer though.

IMHO separate 9005/9006 bulbs are superior to dual-filament H4 bulbs.

i have the depos on my car and im pretty pleased with them, better light output than stock.

im using 6k hids in my low beams and i can see very well, the cutoffs are niceand i never get hi beams from opposing traffic.

however.

the rubber trim on the sidemarkers came loose in a matter of a few months, and the black trim clearcoat is fading very fast, this is all isolated to the sidemarkers however, and im waiting on a set of legit koitos to complete the look.

good luck!
