I might need to get my tire rods replaced?

I tried to get an alignment for my car which is 1993 1.8L last April when I got new tires. They said they couldnt get the right rear wheel aligned, but all the others were good. They said I needed a shim, but I never got one. I took it to another place and they said I didnt need a shim and that my tire rod was seized. I recently also had winter tires installed also at another place and they confirmed that the tire rod was seized and they said the other tire rod might need to be replaced. I forgot exactly what he said about that one.

Is it safe to drive my car like this? the only problem is it goes to the left a little and sometimes the steering wheel turns a little to the left when I brake hard.

I just dont want to spend a lot of money on this car, but I'll do it if it will be safer.

How much would it cost to replace one tire rod and how much would it cost to replace both? Im thinking about $450 for both tire rods and thats not including what I have to pay for an alignment.

on the rear there is a left front and left rear tie rod so that means 4 total

mine are bent so I went to the dealership and for just one of the tie rods is like $170

I also cant find the tie rods on ebay or any auto store online or locally.

Hey is it the inner or the outer tie rod? The outer one is the cheaper one. As for the pricing for the outer I think they are around 40 and the inner around 80. And it a pretty standard job to do. So it shouldnt take that long as per the amount of hours.

As for safety I'm not to sure. But it's not like it is going to come apart. You are just not able to adjust it. You will eat up tires a little faster thought cause it not going to get equal wear. Maybe someone else Would know more about he safety

Hope it helps

So this is the part needed to fix the alignment on the right rear wheel? It says its only for the camry? I never done a repair like this, just changing the back lights and the pcv valve. I haven't even don a oil change before. I dont think I could do this. Could I just take it to a repair shop and have them install it?

Im sorry I looked up a Camry but heres the info for ur 93 Corolla. Please ignore the last link that was just for a 93 Camry.

Copy & print this diagram & take it to ur parts store, most places will have it. The one u need is on the diagram as No.#2 Suspension Arm

Im not really sure what the price will be for the part. To put the part on any little shop should be able to do it for about 50 bucks.

Yeah thats it but wow is it pricey. By the way just to let u know, dont think ur car is gonna blow up over something that small. I saw ur alignment diagram & ur off by only .17 wich is not bad at all. In all honestly on a car thats 18 years old, I would let it ride. Instead of wasting almost 200 bucks.

if you are looking to sell the car soon then let it ride but if its a keeper get it done and wheel align properly or you will be spending alot of money on replacement tires.
