4age 20vlave blacktop head and silvertop block

I have AE101 Levin and run a 4age 20vlave blacktop engine. The Engine has started to give out black smoke and making a knocking noise, i have lost power from the engine as well. The mechanic said that the conrods must have gone.

I also have a silvertop engine with me.

Can i use the same blacktop head, intake system and wiring but have a silvertop block fitted to it.
1. Is it just a bolt on situation or do i need to do additional mords and stuff.

could anyone please assist on this project, i heard having a BT head with a ST block will give me more power and torque.

There are only a few here with expertise on these engines. Go dig around on club 4ag. I think your answers are there.

It's a direct swap over. The thing about the silvertop bottom end is that it's a bit beefier than that of the blacktop (thicker rods mostly). It's actually relatively common to see a silvertop and blacktop mashup, it will run perfectly on the blacktop's equipment, but don't expect to make any more power.
