If you're willing to drive a bit, you should definitely check out this place.

http://www.audioheaven.ca/

I've been there a couple times myself and their prices and service are top notch.

Ebay? Just how easy is it to install? I've never actually opened up the inside of my car before.

Well doors are supper easy to work with on a Corolla ...Yeah I got the kit of ebay... I really got sick and tired of using the key for past 2 year that I have owned my car. Umm I will be doing the install on the weekend so if I don't get lazy I will post a tutorial on how to do it...

I wouldn't bother with email. They get very busy quite often.

Just drop into the shop in-person when you have time and talk to Jeff.

EDIT: Plus, it's easier to negotiate a better deal that way.

Fair enough. I mostly was curious about what he'd charge me to have my new stereo installed. May do the locks myself not sure yet. Car alarm for sure I'll be getting installed by a pro as well.

Would anyone happen to know a good place to get one of the universal auto door lock kits? I don't care how many remotes it comes with or even if it comes with any at all because I'll be installing a security system right afterwards.

I am concerned about the wiring, how difficult was it to wire through the doors? for the rear doors, did you heed to drill holes in the door frame near the door hinges to pass the wires to the B-pillar? As for the front doors, I supposed you pass the wires via the existing wire harness for the speakers?

As for the main processor box, where did you mount it? where did you get the 15A power from? is-it ok to tap into the cigarette lighter or the radio to supply the voltage to this unit?

One last thing: did you install the optional ON-OFF switch in the cabin that allows you to operate it without having to use the remote control?

If you could provide some hints or guidlines, that will help alot

thanks for sharing

I'll be posting a brief tutorial by the end of the week. I am half way done with it. Been really busy with work !

*Wiring was easy. The most difficult part was to make it look nice.
*For the front doors, i used existing tubing in the door to run the wires, for the back i had to custom make the channels. Best place to find those rubber channels is at a local junk yard.
*I mounted the box under drivers side dash to the left of the brake pedal
*I got the 15A power from the battery. This requires a constant power source. Some might say taping into ignition might be better but just running to battery was easier for me.
* No i didn't install the on-off switch.
