Splicing into OEM wiring for HIDs

So I recently purchased a 93 Corolla for my time here in the Caribbean over 2011. I ordered some HIDs while I was in Toronto for XMas, only to find out that the car is JDM spec and uses HB4 type headlight bulbs and the kit I bought has 9006 type bulbs and connectors as per USDM cars.

Is it safe to use the red/blue (low beam trigger?) wire from the HB4 plug and wire it to the power wire of the HIDs, then ground the HIDs to anywhere on the chassis - or am I missing something here? I realize I'll lose my high beam functionality.

Thanks!

Well I went ahead and it worked. Except now, the low beams (HIDs) won't turn on, and the low beam indicator on the cluster no longer lights up. My guess is a fuse is blown.

Does anyone know what amp fuse is needed and it's location for the low beams? The fuse box lid in the engine compartment doesn't contain any layout for a fuse box diagram either.

Help please!

Not sure if this will help, but here's a diagram of the engine bay fuse locations inside the fusebox, scanned from my factory owner's manual:
