gen 7 Trouble with clutch

Ok, so Ill try to make this as easy as I can to understand whats going wrong. I was leaving work in the morning and was at the stop light and its a slight incline. I had the clutch pressed in and the shifter was at 1st. All of the sudden the car started shaking and would not move out of first gear. Then I tried to start it again and it wouldn't start. So I shifted it into neutral and then started it and it worked. When I got home I had trouble reversing. I put it in reverse as normal and then it started grinding. I put it in neutral and then back to reverse and it went in no problem. Also I should note that once the car is either in first or reverse and I hold it there for awhile the shifter locks up and I cannot move it. Could this be the hydraulic cylinders failing?

Thanks for your help, Much Appreciated

Your writing is very confusing but heres the process to narrow down the problem. I DONT think your clutch is to blame since you were able to drive it for some time OK. Either your clutch slave or clutch master cylinder is being flaky. Usually the first sign of trouble is the reservoir goes dry. The MC usually leaks down the firewall on the interior side. The slave leaks by where the push rod goes in.

Yea I know the writing was confusing but I was trying to be as detailed as possible. It doesn't seem as it is the clutch either because I don't notice any slipping. There is no leaking of the cylinders I checked both of them and also around the piping. I think it is a bad seal or a internal part wearing out. I plan to change the master/slave along with the clutch when it gets warm out. Thanks for the advice.
