need a good mechanic

In Beaufort, SC area. For my 94 7A car. Car starts, idles real low (700rpm), then dies. Lots of screaching when its cold and when the wheel is turned. Goes away when the car warms up. Also shudders between 50-60 mph, actually more like a steering wheel shimmy.

as for the steering wheel shimmy check for an wheel alignment, bad alignment causes steering wheel shimmy at higher speeds....a basic check is to take a look at your front tires and check for irregular tyre wear.

Yes it only really happens when its cold.

As for the shimmy, I looked at the brakes and passenger side pad is almost worn down all the way, but there is still alot of material on the drivers side.

Another problem I am having is when I put the car into gear when its cold it revs but moves very slowly. Revving it up a couple times seems to get it warmed up and it runs fine. But it def has me worried.

My poor car has given me years and years of trouble free transportation, I feel that I owe it to her to get her running tip top again.

I will b replacing both calipers, pads and rotors for the shimmy issue. The one rotor that the pad is worn down all the way, is warped.

For the trans issue, while ding an oil change I noticed that trans fluid is leaking at the seal where the trans meets the block. Looks like there is a gasket there. I can't find out where to get this gasket. Any ideas, or part numbers??

Threw some Lucas Trans additive in there to prolong the devastation until I can replace the gasket. Also added more trans fluid as it was way down. Explains my morning problems.

So is it alot of work to drop the transmission? I have a hobby shop with lifts and all the tools I would need.
