USA Problems Suspension

Ok so several things going on here, I had recently put on a set of tokico shocks with some lowering springs(not sure of the name since I got them used) but anyway they ride pretty good but sure that I need to replace the struts (probably going to go with KYB GR-2) since I have had them before on other cars and really like them, ok down to the problem, I recently acquired a set of 17'' wheels and tires, so I put them on and they do good except for the fact that when I go over bumps or dips or around curves(even slowly) it rubs the inside fender rim on the drivers side rear (its the only one that rubs) is this a common problem or does this suggest that the particular strut there is just worse than the others? Also I have been looking for a trd or factory strut tower brace that will fit my 93 Le for 6 moths with no luck, I have tried ebay and other sites and cannot find anything, and I am not putting cheap ebay crap on my car so if anyone knows of a solution please let me in on the secret, Thanks

Could just be a symptom of worn shock absorbers, but what is the offset of your wheels and what size tires are you using?

As for the strut brace, the TRD 4-point strut brace is near impossible to find nowadays. You can however get an 8th Gen Corolla TRD 2-point strut brace and fit it with a small amount of modification, but I'd recommend using an OEM 3-point strut brace. These came on JDM GT Apex Levins, the AE101 Corolla GT, Sprinter GT and a couple of others. I think they also came on some USDM models too, but they may have been 6th Gen's. It bolts to the firewall and provides the best rigidity there is.

I've got a spare one sitting in my garage. Here's a photo of the one on my car:

I am unsure of the offset of the wheels, since I acquired them used, but as for the tire size I am running they are a 205 40R 17, you mentioned in your reply that I would have to make a small modification to get the bar to work, what would that be?

The offset should be stamped inside the wheel. Although if the wheel's not sitting flush with the front fenders then they'll probably be around 40p. Here's a tutorial to make the 8th Gen TRD strut bar fit the 7th Gen:

Or if you're feeling creative, you can make your own strut bar:

one ques corollajoe are all of your fenders rolled? if they are then ill go with kiwi's suggestion of a worn shock, it would been nice to know which springs your using because if they are dropzones they are prone to saggin especially in the rear after 2 years of use.

they could be since the rear does come down considerably more in the rear than in the front, as for the inner lip me and brother are going to roll them in this week to see if that will take care of the matter

Don't forget you can still buy a 3-point strut bar from Ultra Racing in the US

I have the same problem on the rear of my wagon. I have a set of white tenzo r's with 205/40/17's and they rub with people in the back on the rear fenders. How would you roll them?

Some will say that it's possible to use a bat and roll them but ideally it's best to use the fender roller. Truuust me.
