Australia 12 volt cig lighter not working - E100 sedan

Hello

My 12 volt cigarette lighter doesn't seem to be working in my e100 sedan. I have checked the fuses and I believe they seem to be fine but the 12 volt lighter is not working. Even the green illumination ring light around it doesn't seem to be working either.

Any ways to fix this?

Could be a fuse problem don't know??

thanks

Welcome to the forums! It could be the cigarette lighter socket that is at fault. The same thing happened to me a little while ago when I tried to use a cheap 12v air compressor from Repco. It would keep blowing my fuses, so I took the compressor back, swapped it for another one, and the new one didn't blow a fuse, but instead it blew the entire cigarette lighter socket . Made a quick trip to the junkyard to get another socket and it was all fixed (didn't use that crappy air compressor again though). Other than a blown socket, check for corrosion on the connections

Also check to make sure the securing ring on the lighter socket hasn't come loose. After years of using car-chargers etc in my socket it had slowly worked loose (from constant twiddling) and caused the socket to lose power (also blew the fuse in the process). Just take off the centre-console trim and ensure that everything down there is plugged in properly and tight.
